Sounds like they were related Barb to me as well. Thanks. Barton and his wife came on the Brooklyn with sons Origin and Rhanaldo. Origin and family are buried here in Fremont with other family members but I don't know where Rhanaldo settled or where he is buried. I did go to the Irvington cemetery this past week and saw the very impressive Mowry monument along with some of the family graves. Mowry Avenue in Fremont is named for the family. Someone recently said it was named for Origin. They were pioneers of the area. Found a picture of Origin in a reprint of an 1883 History of Alameda County at the library about a week ago. There is a lithograph of the family farm in another County history printed a few years later as well. Those that came on the Brooklyn were among the first permanent settlers of California. It has been interesting reading about all of this.
