DATE: Saturday, June 22, 2013
TIME: 12:00pm until 5:00pm
LOCATION: SCIOTO TOWNSHIP HALL
@ 164 SOUTH WATT ST, CHILLICOTHE, OH 45601
I will have two portable scanners at the reunion to scan any pictures/info into my ancestry research file so you can take your pictures, etc back home with you when you leave the reunion. There is plenty of parking in a lot next to and behind the hall.
All descendants of Mathias and Eve (Thimmes) Bonner; Mathias and Eva/Eve (Lechner) Bonner; Edward W. and Adeline "Addie" Bonner; or are descendants of any of their siblings families are invited to join us. I have been working on my family history for around 2 years and would like to meet more of the Bonner family and to get the more recent generations caught up for the ancestry file, in addition to hopefully finding out more about our ancestors. If you are unsure if you might be related, contact me via FB message on the Bonner-Haynes Family Reunion Facebook Event Page at
https://www.facebook.com/events/482974755083777/?ref=ts&... or you can email me at
maliburita56@yahoo.com. If you are interested in, or will be attending, please contact me by Saturday, June 15.
In case some of you aren't aware, I'm documenting the Bonner Family History. I am trying to go as far back in our Ancestors' time before coming to America as possible. Due to wars and the fact official records weren't kept way back in time, some records may no longer be available. This is where handwritten family records or family bibles could help. If any of the families have their family bibles that have been passed down through the years, please go through them for any information or pictures. You can scan them and send to me in email or scan on to Facebook and let me know they are posted in your picture albums, or you can copy them and bring them to the reunion where I can scan them into my computer. I will have two portable scanners at the reunion to scan any pictures/info into my ancestry research file so you can take your pictures, etc back home with you when you leave the reunion.
It's my intention when I have the Bonner Family History completed (caught up for all current generations and as far back as I can get with research in the old country) that I will be burning DVD's for the heads of each descendant's family. This will have birth, baptismal and death certificates, military records, immigration records, census and voting records, newspaper clippings, obituaries and pictures of gravestones if available, along with pictures and stories (which family members will need to provide to me). Once this has been completed, I will be putting the Bonner Family History in book form to be stored on the shelves of the Ross County Genealogical Society and the Ohio Genealogical Society so future generations won't have such a large project ahead of them.
It will be important for all Bonner descendants to provide me with all birth and death information when it happens in order to keep the records current.
I will need the following information from each family for their own particular family:
Complete given names at birth, City, County, State and/or Country where born and Date of Birth, Complete names of Father, Mother and all siblings, whether each person is Living or Deceased (if deceased will need age at death, date died, location and where buried/name of cemetery); Names of all spouses if married, including divorces, Dates of Marriage and/or Divorces, Name of Church or location marriage took place. If you want to put this information together ahead of time, you can email it to me at
rkern45601@gmail.com or put in a Facebook message to me. That will enable me to enter it into my family tree research and will show up on the tree at the reunion. I would appreciate getting as much information ahead of time as possible.
It would also be nice to have pictures of each family member, including any ancestors. The pics I would like to enter are birth, baptism, marriage and a picture taken close to the time someone passed away or some time during their later life.
If any of you can remember stories your family told about certain members of the Bonner family, especially the ancestors, please share those. Also, any newspaper clippings about family. The written history will hopefully be a complete, well-documented history and something all of us will be proud of to honor those who came before us.
