I am looking for the family of Ellen O'Brien or O'Brian b. abt 1840 in Ireland. She married Alexander Popps, my GG Grandfather. They lived in Ogdensburgh, New York. After ten years of searching for her maiden name, I found it in an obituary of their son Joseph Lawrence Popps. If you or anyone out there has any information on this family, I would be grateful for any replies.
