Surnames: Dockter, Jacobsen, Henne, Schwalbe, Huber
I just returned from the GRHS convention in Bismarck. I found a bit of information there and received lots of help. My late mother-in-law, Frieda Dockter Jacobsen, Rupert, Idaho, descended from Germans in Russia. Her father, Jacob or Jakob Dockter was born August 19, 1889, in Neudorf, Gluckstal, Russia. Her mother, Regina Henne, was born February 9,1888, in Klostitz, Bessarabia, Russia. Regina's family came to the U.S. when she was about 11. Jacob and his family came over when he was about 17. The families settled near Harvey, North Dakota. Later, when land opened up, they moved to southern Idaho, near American Falls. Regina's parents were Gottlieb Henne, born January 20, 1864, in Klostitz, and Rosina Schwalbe, born January 26,1866. Jacob's parents were Christian Dockter, and Christina Huber, both were born in Neudorf, Gluckstal, Russia. I hope that this means something to you.
I was stationed at Minot, 1967-68. My wife, Janice, and I attended a Henne or Dockter funeral in Harvey, around Mother's Day, 1968. We met many relatives at that time.
My mother-in-law, Frieda Jacobsen, died February 17, 1999, in Boise, Idaho. She is buried in Rupert, Idaho.
My father-in-law, Russell Jacobsen, died in Boise, September 29, 1999. He is buried in Rupert also.
My wife, Janice Jacobsen, died January 9, 2000. She is buried in Independence.
I wish I had known about the Dockter reunion. I would like to have been there. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
