2008 HILLIS Family Reunion

Reunion Time again! Hope you will join us, as we gather with kinfolk from near and far… close relatives and extended families! Hopefully, even tho fuel prices are at an all-time high… we hope we will see you at the Reunion, Saturday & Sunday, June 21st & 22nd,2008. (Annually, the 3rd weekend of June) Mark Your Calendars!

Where:
Tira Community Center – Tira Road / CR 1536 – Hopkins County – Tira,TX.
Directions:
Take Hwy 19 North OUT of Sulphur Springs,TX. (towards Cooper). Stay on Hwy 19 until you come to Tira Road (County Road 1536). Turn right on Tira Road… Continue on for about 2-3 miles, until you see the Tira Community Center/Fire Dept. on the right-hand side (in/near a curve). You should see it just before you reach the curve.It is in the country, so you will travel several miles north of Sulphur Springs, and there usually will be a Reunion Banner posted at the Hwy 19/Tira Road intersection. We will meet at the Community Center, and share a Pot Luck Dinner/Supper, so bring your Favorite Foods! There are no admittance fees, but donations are welcome! [and desperately needed these days!] ... to help cover the cost of the Building, Utilities [Air-Conditioning, Kitchen, and Restrooms available], and Reunion expenses!
Donations of Paper Plates, Cups [Cold & Hot], Plastic Silverware, and Ice are always welcome, as are Drinks! (Tea, Sodas, Juices, Coffee…. No Alcohol, please… This is a Family Event!)
Bring your Families, Old Photos/Albums, Cameras, Dominoes & Games! Renew your Friendships… or meet the Family you never knew! Help us spread the word!

Our Branch descends from Andrew “Jackson” HILLIS (1815/17 – 1878) who married 1) Aliza Elizabeth HAWKINS, and 2) Mary Ann SHELTON, branching out from the Lauderdale Co,AL & Giles Co,TN regions… spreading out across various States. They had the following children:
