Hi Jan,
The O'Leary Clan reunion is usually held during the second weekend of September. However, at last year's reunion it was decided to go to a two year format, or every other year, still held at Creedon's Hotel in Inchigeelagh, Co. Cork, with the possibility of having the reunion somewhere in the states in the odd year. So far, nothing has been planned for a stateside reunion this year, and because of the time left, I don't think there will be one, although there has been some discussion as Boston being a possibility, if a committee can be formed in time to plan a reunion. That being said, the O'Leary Clan committee of Peter O'Leary, Eugene O'Leary & Joe Creedon will still have a meeting to discuss & review any pending issues in Inchigeelagh the second week of September 2011, but there will not be a scheduled program, ie; a bus tour, banquet, entertainment, special guest speakers, etc. Clan members who may want to still visit Inchigeelagh in September are welcome to attend this weekend meeting. Those who have expressed an interest will probably be from Ireland & the UK, but there are a couple from the states that I know of whose itinerary include a stop in Inchigeelagh to attend the meeting. If you are planning to visit Ireland this September you might want to contact Eugene at

Re your Boston ancestors, please contact Tom Leary at
tjleary@aol.com. Tom is very knowledgeable of the Leary/O'Leary history of immigrants who disembarked in Boston, and may be able to throw a couple of clues your way re your inquiry. Another source of researching your ancestors, if you aren't aware of it,is
www.irishgenealogy.ie A lot of the Cork & Kerry parish records have been indexed, but most of the s/w area of Cork, including the O'Leary stronghold around the Inchigeelagh area have not, and not online yet.
Interesting to note that your grt grf John was a puddler in the UK. My ancestors also worked in the iron mills of Wales before coming over the pond between 1880 & 1890.
You may contact me at
