The attached is a letter from my Grandfather to the Nord-Dakota Herold. It was a German language newspaper that had a large readership from the German Russian community of the upper Great Plains in the early 1900s. My grandfather (he was single) emigrated from Landau, Odessa, Russia but most of his family remained behind. The attached letter was published in the March 28, 1930 issue of the Nord-Dakota Herold. From my limited ability to translate with Google, it describes a subscription renewal and his brothers being taken from their homes by the Soviets. This is followed by the editor’s comments and a letter from my great grandmother—still in Russia.

Question: I don’t expect free translations, though that would be nice, but whom might I get to translate and what might they charge for a document such as this?

I have 24 of these published letters of varying length. The attached letter is longer than most of the others. Some of the other letters are less legible.
