How to figure out the actual name when it is so badly spelled

Surnames: Volchine, Blochuen
I have a family tree member who is identified on her own death certificate by her daughter with a maiden name spelled 'Volchine' or 'Volekine'. On her son's death certificate her maiden name was spelled 'Blochuen' by her grandson. Neither of these two names seem to be correct. Her parents were from Poland/Lithuania. What could that maiden name possibly be? It looks like the family members were possibly trying to spell it phonetically. Any ideas or help?

You don't give any full names, dates, or the location in which she lived and died, so it's difficult to provide anything but generalities. Her marriage certificate will give her maiden name. Depending upon where she gave birth, her children's birth certificates may give her maiden name. Obituaries might provide clues.

FamilySearch has the son's birth record and his mother's name is spelled Bolchune. That appears to be correct from what I see of U.S. City Directories of 1888 to 1896 and the first names. Daughter's birth record does not have a maiden name for mother. Seems daughter might have been named for a Bolchune relative as well as having her mother's first name as a middle name.
