Becoming a Professional Genealogist

I really enjoy doing research in my family history and would enjoy making a career out of it. I was wondering how many people who try are able to make it as genealogists full-time. I was also wondering about if getting a college degree in genealogy would help. I saw BYU-Idaho offers a AAS in Family History online and BYU-Provo offers a BA in Family History. Other than that there appears to be certifications from many other colleges. Which one is more important? Or is it smarter to get a degree in something similar to family history in case you can't make it as a genealogist and what range of jobs could you get with a degree in family history?
