My father Robert "Bob" Crecelius boarded this ship 21 May 1918, according to a hand written diary I have. He was a cook also on his way to Brest. Left from Hoboken. May 22, Left the harbor about four in the afternoon nice weather and was good weather all the way across. Nothing to do but lay around and eat two good meals a day and plenty of music. Had a good time and did not spy any Subs until we were in sight of land. Then we were aroused by gun firing. They fired about 30 shots but we landed safely at Brest.
Was really strange to see the name of this ship in your post. I recognized it immediately. Just tho't I would share this little tidbit. Wish his picture was one of them but probably of the crew. Thanks for sharing Mary
