Hello - First off I wish to apologize that I only speak and read English. I am in Canada. I am humbly asking for your assistance. I live in a very remote area and our local library has limited resources.
I have visited every website suggested and as I said I have written every place I can see to write to. I am wondering if you have any additional advice for me or can help or can forward my request to the right folks. I just keep getting rreplys back that say no help.
I am looking for find any information I can on my grandparents. There are no Canadian family documents due to family home house fire.
I would like to know if they had brothers and sisters and who their parents were and the date of their marriage. I know a lot to ask for but if it is possible PLEASE.
I have tried every which way to find out information on my grandparents who came from (Rymanow) Sieniawa, Galicia, Austria around the time of 1903/07. I don't know where else to go to find out about them. I have written and e-mail every place I could find and so far with no success.
Here is what I know about them.
Michael (Michal) Kuzminsky (Comisky)
1904 (September) Michaelimmigrated through Baltimore, Maryland, USA - Manifest Information
Age: 25 Est. DOB: 1879/80 DOD: April 21, 1947 - DO NOT KNOW WHAT HE DIED FROM???

Port of Arrival: Baltimore, Maryland, USA

On one of the immigration information things I was able to find > Michael was visiting his brother-in-law Mike Kostecky (1979 Jan 1) I think (someone sent this information). His wife's name was Mary and that they were both from Austria. They immigrated to the USA and lived in Indiana, USA.
1910 US Census shows Mike, aged 30, married 6 years, painter, car works, born Austria, both parents born Austria.
Wife: Helen (Helena) Rak (Comisky)
1907 (July 4) immigrated to USA arriving at Ellis Island, New York City. Age 25
She used the last name: Kasiminska. (ska is the female spelling)
Married: In 1904 in Austria (?) Marital Staus: M Gender: F NOTE: Married Michael K. in Sieniawa, Galicia, Austria
Religion: On immigration records from USA to Canada (1920) listed Greek Orthodox

Race: Ruthenian (Russniak) NOTE: old name for Ukranian
Port of Departure: Bremen, Germany
Ship: Barbarossa (another record shows ship name as Chemnitz with Helen Rak)
Destination: Buffalo, New York Manifest States: Helena was going to husband Michal K. Bx 6 Hammond,Ind, USA
Last Residence: Sieniawa, Galicia, Austria - shown as place of birth (Rymanow)
Medium complexion, brown hair, brown eyes
Helen left her brother Wasko Rak in Rymanow to join her husband in the USA.
I believe that her sister Mary married Michael Kostecky who may also have been from the same location in Austria
At some point an Iwan Rak and a Dymtro Rak were mentioned as visiting them. Could be brothers or cousins - would be nice to know!
Also, traveling with them to the USA was a Michael Capko.
Additional Information -
Also we think (a cousin of mine and I) that our Uncle Stephen Comisky(Brantford) visited relatives in Quebec, Canada by the last name of Rak. Could have been Iwan or Dymtro
I hope with all my heart that you are able to help me find out more about my grandparents.
Thank you and god bless.
Janet
