Mittie Mae Carrell, 54, of Gause died Sept. 28 at her home. Funeral services were held Oct. 1 in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Billy Crow officiating.

Carrell was born Sept. 2, 1053 in Kountze to William Monroe and Susie Mae Carrell.

She was a Certified Nurses Assistant.

Survivors include husband, James Shafer of Gause; daughter, Susan Renae Hanhart Almaguer and husband, Luis, of Center; sisters, Dorothy Mae Mitchell of Onalaska and Lillie Collins of Lockhart; and two grandchildren.
