Kenneth Caffey, 69, of Salty died Sept. 29 at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale. Funeral services will be held today at 11:00 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Carl Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the Salty Cemetery near Thorndale.

Caffey was born on Nov. 18, 1937 in Salty to Dow and Norma (Towery) Caffey.

He married Melba Jean Stewart on July 27, 1957 in San Gabriel Baptist Church in San Gabriel.

He graduated from Thorndale High School. He was a sales representative for Lextron in animal health. He worked for Lextron and other companies like them for 46 years. He was a member of the Salty Community Church and attended church at Meadowbrook Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Doyle Wayne Caffey.

Survivors include wife, Melba Caffey of Salty; son, Stuart Caffey and wife, Debbie, of Johnson; daughters, Sherry Schneider and husband, Glynn, of Salty and Rebecca McWilliams and husband, Irby, of Salty; brother, Douglas Caffey and wife, Janice, of Salty; mother-in-law, Lula Stewart of Rockdale; grandchildren, Coy Wayne Schneider, Cody James Schneider, Miranda Lynn Caffey, Taylor Morgan McWilliams, and Cheyenne Nicole McWilliams.

Pallbearers were Time Czapla, Ira Syler, Eddie Whitley, Andre' Hartness, Leroy Stephens, Buster Pavlicek, Bill Barefield and Robert Thigpen, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Glenn Towery, Jackie Bon Towery, Tregg Towery, David Carter, Steve Childress, and Calvin Schuman.
