Am looking for information of Philip Ephraim Raiford, Sr. who died in Fairfield Co., SC in 1822. Wife's name unknown. Hos son, Philip Ephraim Raiford, Jr. married Elizabeth Daniel and died in Edgefield Co., SC in 1824. Philip Sr. and his wife had Sarah; Rachel; Philip, Jr.; William; and Matthew. Philip, Jr. and Elizabeth had Philip, III; William D.; John D.; Nancy; Thomas Woodward; Robert; James M.; Malachi; and Elizabeth.
Thomas, Robert, Malachi, Robert and Elizabeth all came to Marshall Co., MS in about 1840. Robert and Malachi stopped first in Monticello, Jefferson Co., FL while Thomas went to GA. Robert and Malachi married sisters from Thomas Co., GA, Robert to Margaret Bryan Wyche in 1835 Malachi to Patience Wyche in 1836. After she arrived in Marshall Co., Elizabeth married John Wimberly of Holly Springs, MS. Elizabeth has disappeared into the mists of time and Malachi isn't too far behind, although there is record of twin boys, Robert and Malachi born to the couple in 1845.
I'm descended from Robert and Margaret Raiford.
William D. Raiford and his wife, Elizabeth Lark, apparently settled near Marshall Co., but I havent found out where, yet.
Many years before I became interested in doing family research, I met a William D. Raiford descendant, Col. Raiford Payne, USA (Retired) in Colorado Springs. CO. He had Thomas and Williams line down into the middle 1950s. I have his notes and have my line down to the present. I have nothing on Elizabeth and for Malachi and Patience, only the birth record of the twin boys, Robert and Malachi, who were born in Marshall CO., in 1845. Ive been contacted by a Malachi descendant and Im hoping to be able to bring that up to date in the future.
