Thank you for your reply. I really don't know a lot about the Crowleys from any earlier than 1830. My ggggrandfather, Andrew Jackson Crowley b. 1830 is as far back as I've gotten. There are about 5 possible men listed in the 1840 census who could be Andrew's father, and a woman, Frances "Franky" Crowley, who I've heard through the grapevine may have had illegitimate children who really weren't Crowleys at all. I have no idea which could be Andrew's father/mother. My father is a Hall so the information on Silas Hall's will was very helpful. I am also stuck on him. There were 3 Silas Halls in row, but I'm not sure that the one born in 1790 is the father/grandfather of the two that I am related to. My Hall line goes from my father Thomas, to grandfather Tommy Floyd, to James Melvin (who was called Silas, I don't know why) to Silas Hall Jr. to Silas Hall Sr. to possibly another Silas before them, but I'm not certain on this.

I don't have any info on the Crowleys being related to anyone from Sumter, at least in my line. We are all related to Roscoes, Cassidys, Goodens, and Davises. But I'll check with my grandmother, who by the way is the current Mary Jane Crowley nee Davis, to see if she knows anything about that for you. Thanks for your help. I'd love to share more with you if you have the time.
