I'm trying to find information on the service (or lack therof) of my ancestor James Pease of Enfield, CT, SAR Ancestor P-267445. The SAR Patriot Index lists him as a "soldier" but says that there is no further information on file. He does not appear in the DAR index, and I have not seen him connected to the war effort anywhere else during my research. However there is an SAR marker next to his tombstone, so I assume that someone must have had some sort of information leading to its placement there. There was another James Pease from Enfield (1754-1844) whose wartime service is documented, so I'm wondering whether the records of the two men were confused at some point. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
