Let me introduce myself. I am a Brameld descended from a family who lived in Swinton, Yorks, in the 1700s and first half of the 1800s, but with uncertain links to the family you are enquiring about. I was born in England but now live in British Columbia.
There was a Mary Bramald (or Brameld) born in 1782, who died in 1838 and was buried in Swinton. She had an illegitimate child named Thomas (father: Samuel Astbury), who married a Christiana Hunt. They had 8 children of whom George Thomas (b. 16.8.1847 Rotherham) married Annie Johnson in Sheffield in the 3rd quarter of 1872.
This couple had two sons: Tom Bramald (b.3rd quarter of 1873 Chesterfield) and John (b.1st quarter of 1875; d. 1887 Sheffield).
Tom, an Engine Tenter in the 1901 census, married Margaret Righton in the 3rd quarter of 1906, Sheffield, and they had 3 sons, Tom, George (b. 21.3.1911 Sheffield), Robert (b. 24.3.1916 Sheffield), & one daughter,Margaret (b. 2nd quarter 1921 Sheffield).
Of these, Tom married Martha I. Clifton but I have no record of children. George married Rose Strong in 1st quarter of 1937 Wortley, Robert married Ivy Beauchamp in 1st quarter 1940 Sheffield, and Margaret married Arthur W. Marsh in 2nd quarter 1941 Sheffield.
George and Rose had one daughter, Jeanette b. 2nd quarter 1938 Sheffield, and two sons, Ian b. last quarter 1940 Sheffield, & Rodney b. last quarter 1946 Sheffield.
Jeanette married Maurice Falkingham, Ian married Shirley M. Blackburn in first quarter 1968 Wortley, and Rodney married Margaret E. Kirton 2nd quarter 1946 Sheffield.
Robert & Ivy's children were Kay who married Peter F. Howgate in 2nd quarter 1971 Sheffield, and Robert who married Jacqueline Bullimore last quarter 1981 Sheffield.
Jeanette & Maurice had 3 children, Ian & Shirley had 2 children, James Alistair & Victoria Ruth M., and Rodney & Margaret had 2 children, Sarah Ruth & Thomas Mathew.
Kay & Peter had 2 children, and Robert & Jacqueline had 2 children, Christina & Gary.
