Dear Joanne you might already have got half a message- typing's not my thing. Anyway in case you didn't, I can't find Daniel in 1861 either and I looked Rawmarsh, Barnsley, sheffield rotherham with all sorts of variants of the name.

Could this be his death? Daniel Dickinson D Barnsley Mar qtr 1864. vol 9c p97 This is Samuel in 1861:-

Mary Hartley is last seen 1851 at Chapel l St Rawmarsh, with Joseph Dickinson age 58 hawker, wife Mary age 61 and Mary Dickinson age 1..?

I'm looking for MY G Grandad with his parents in 1851. He's William Dickinson B Ecclesall Bierlow 1843, parents Joseph and Ann. He M Mary Bool, daughter of Benjamin who was a son of Samuel Bool. She was a Dickinson on her mother's side, grand daughter of Hannah Dickinson and William Dickinson D 1839, landlord of the Red Lion Rawmarsh.Hannah later M Thomas Webster.

I have Will and Mary (G grandparents in 1871 in Ecclesall Bierlow, Will is a hatter. and they have 1 child my grandma Lucy. In 1878 William dies and Mary marries her dead sister's husband James Hargreaves.

In 1861, William aged 18 is apprentice hatter in Sheffield living with employer and probably been there since age 14.
His father Joseph dies 1851. His mother Ann dies 1859.

The only way I'm going to see him with his parents is if someone will look for them for me (either in Ecclesall Bierlow or in Rawmarsh) in 1851.

I expect we are distantly related. Do contact me, perhaps we can share some info and work out if Daniel and William were cousins or what. I'm pretty sure William and his wife were related - the Bools and Dickinsons kept on intermarrying.
