Betty:

Did Matthew and Nancy (BUTLER) NAIL have any children? My husband's ancestor, John BAILEY of Smith Co., TN, had a first wife, Charlotte B. NAIL (1825-1848), whom he married in Wilson Co., TN in 1844. John's uncle was Jonathan BAILEY of Smith and Wilson Co., TN who I think married Sarah BUTLER, a sister of Nancy, in Campbell Co., VA in 1809. The BAILEYs came from Campbell and Amherst Co., VA.

To top it off, the BUTLERs' mother was Charlotte RECTOR. There is so much these people have in common that I'm really wondering if there is a proveable connection.

Thanks,
Nancy
