My g-g-grandfather was Mahlon Day (b.1847) who married Ruth Harvey in 1867.
It sounds like your James Harvey would be in the same generation as Mahlon but maybe there was a connection to the Harvey family before that.
I have the father of Ruth Harvey as David Harvey but I don't go beyond that.
