The Daniel Steiner family were Mennonites and no one in that family I have been able to find were Amish. There are numerous examples of second cousin marriiages throughout the Steiner (and I suppose other families) as there are in many famillies who belong to a small group who marry within. I have several "double" doses of genes as well.
Racette's article is specifically related to a large Amish family who ended up in Illinois. In my relatively limited search, I've not been able to identify PD in my relatives, although as a young boy, there was an uncle born in 1879, whom I met in 1948, who moved extremely slowly but he lived until 1964, and most likely from interviews did not have PD. I'll reply privately.
Thanks for your response.
