Hi G,
I have done so little work on my Payne's to date - so far I know "my" Payne's were in Va 1750+ and went to Franklin Co Ga in 1784 but that's the only places I personally know of.
But, I've got a suggestion as to where you might find someone who knows about your Payne's.....
There is a PAYNE surname only mailing list you can email:
PAYNE-L@rootsweb.com
There are lots of longtime Payne researchers who use this mailing list to exchange information - you really ought to sign up!
Meanwhile, I will save your message just in case I stumble across your folks one day. I wish you much success in 2003
Kathye [Payne] Upham
