I'm researching my THOMPSONS, said to be "of Lookout Mt., but I've found them in GA as follows:

1850 Union living with James LONG and Uly CANSLER fam.
1870 Fannin Co. Eliz. THOMPSON HH

NOTE:on census found only the 'mother' & her children who was she d/o James LONG? She is missing in 1860 but "added" THOMPSON children to her HH during that time, and is living next to some of the LONG boys in 1870. So, she was not widowed it appears.

family always insisted they were from Lookout Mt., and that caused the family to think Chattanooga TN. However, census dispute that. It is possible in 1885 they were in Dayton TN,
but not confirmed. Can anyone place the husband of an
Eliz. THOMPSON b @1827 NC ? her son James Manuel THOMPSON may have md. Sarah LEATHERWOOD or SHELDON. Daus. md. FORTNER and STANLEY (those are the only 2 I know of ). anyone with data? please email me at woolfpac@prodigy.net
