I recently purchased a certified 19th century handwritten copy of a will for John Radcliff of Gnatty Creek in Harrison County, VA/WV. The will copy is written in quill on Mt. Hope Paper stationary. The clerk of courts at the time the copy was written was Sydney Hammond. He was clerk of courts from 1864-1867. This document is NOT a copy. It is written in Sydney Hammond's hand. The original will, which he copied, was dated 30 December 1812.

The will mentions John's wife Catherine, sons John, Jonathan, James, and Benjamin, daughter Susannah, and grand-daughter Sarah Radcliff.

I would be happy to send a transcription of the will to any who are interested.
