Several ladies have joined Daughters of the American Revolution thru a Patriot named William Douglass. None had service thru the State of NY.

I am hoping that the following will be your William Douglass:
born: Aug. 22, 1743 in Conn. Died: Dec. 24, 1811 in NY.
He married (1) Hannah Cole (2) Thankful (no maiden name).
He was a Capt. for the State of Mass. If this is your Patriot no pensions were issued.

If this is not your Patriot, maybe you have a daughter that is old enough to join DAR thru Wm. Douglass.

Go to your local library and see if they have inter-library loan. Ask for the Patriot Pension film. Maybe the spouse received a pension and you may find information to help you.
