Since someone has established membership in the NSDAR through him, you may obtain a copy of the DAR application with the patriot’s information by sending a check for $10.00 payable to Treasurer General NSDAR. Mail the check along with the information on the Patriot to: Record Copy Department; Registrar General NSDAR; Administration Building; 1776 D Street NW; Washington, DC 20006-5303. Requests for record copies may take four to six weeks as they are very busy.

Also, since the widow received a pension, you can obtain a copy of that application from the National Archives: http://www.archives.gov/index.html
