Does the town of Sorel ring any bells? I'm not a descendent of Mary Carpenter, but I know she was forced to move to Canada because John Bradstreet Schuyler (son of Philip Schuyler of Albany, NY) had some sort of incident with her. I have the document recording the annuities she received and the final payment she and Aubrey received after their marriage (signed by Edward, but they lived in Sorel at the time). I just wondered if she had left any documentation discussing her side of this "incident."
