Vermont. When Edward found out that there had been a surveying accident and he was actually living in the US [the family was devoutly Loyalist], around 1812, he packed up the family and moved to Dundee, Quebec, arriving there and buying property in 1813 - just across the border from Fort Covington, New York. He raised his family there, and there is an Aubrey Cemetery not far from Zion Presbyterian Church, where he was a member. The family spread out from there.
