This means someone has joined the DAR with him as her ancestor. If you would like a copy of an application with him as the patriot send the above information and a $10 check made out to Treasurer General NSDAR and mail to Record Copy, Office of the Registrar General, 1776 D Street NW, Washington DC 20006-5303. It could take about 8 weeks to receive the copy as they are a very busy office.

The record states he received a pension. You could get a copy of his pension file and find out more about his service and perhaps it will have some genealogical information too. Either visit a Regional National Archives or go the their web site and order the form to request a pension file. I have had good luck with the mail service from DC. http://www.archives.gov/index.html
