John and Deborah (Stout) Hart were Presbyterians and John was a deacon in the Presbyterian church. However, Deborah's parents were Baptist and she had been raised Baptist. When the local Baptists (including her parents) needed a lot for their church building, John and Deborah donated the corner of their farm for that purpose. I would say, by these facts, that it could be conjectured that John Hart was a sincere Christian man.
