Hello Gary,
Thank you for your inquiry. The DAR Patriot Index shows the following:
MCKNIGHT, ANDREW
Service: NORTH CAROLINA
Rank: CORPORAL
Birth: (CIRCA) 1760
Death: 3-25-1825
Spouse Name: 1)ELIZABETH NASH
If you would like a copy of the application with the patriot's information, you may request a copy from DAR National Headquarters. Send the above information with a $10.00 check made payable to:
Treasurer General NSDAR
and mail to:
Library Copy Services, DAR
1776 D Street NW
Washington, DC 20006-5303
Please send only one check and one request per envelope. It may take 4 to 6 weeks to receive your copy as the office is very busy.
The application may contain names, dates, locations, service and reference sources that may be of interest to you. If you or any member of your family is interested in joining the DAR or the SAR, please let me know. I will be happy to put you in touch with someone in your area who will help you with the application process.
If we can assist further let us know!

That is from the current listing of DAR patriots. To see if this is the same Andrew McKnight as yours and if the lineage to the DAR applicant has several links that are the same as yours (making your documentation for the SAR easier) you would have to order the DAR application. I do not have that information.
I hope that this helps with your SAR application.
