Good Evening Katherine. I am so glad to read of your interest in our wonderful organization! The best thing you can probably do is visit our national web site at www.dar.org

On the site, you will find links to the many ways DAR works as a service organization. One of the links is "Membership". There is a form you can complete online that will be sent to the Membership Chairman and State Regent in the state you live. That Chairman will then forward your information to an appropriate chapter for your specifics. A chapter can then contact you about a possible visit. Chapter meetings have "recessed" for the summer and will begin again in September.

I saw in the previous post by another volunteer, that the information for your ancestor was provided. You do have to prove with documentation that you are related to John Wimp. Once you've made contact with a chapter, there are women in that chapter who will assist you in completing your application.
