Your mention of the brass and teak chests is nostalgic. Hadn't thought about them for years, but they were very special. They were packed with SSP goodies and made wonderful gifts, especially for the holidays. My dad, who worked for the company, brought several of them home and they became permanent fixtures in our household. I remember, as a kid, we also had a beautiful balance (scale) with a marble base and brass arm and pans that had been used at the Tremont St. store in the tobacco dept. It was about two feet high and my mother had potted plants on the pans and climbing over the arms.
