I have a distant "uncle"? William Coakley b. 19 Oct 1944-Somerville, Mass. d. 26 June 1917 in the Soldiers Home, Chelsea, Mass who married Catherine E. Griffin, aughter of Martin & Bridget Giffin on 22 Nov 1865. Catherine was form 1851 Hunsdale NH died about 1895. They had 7 children which I have name & birth datees on--also William Coakley info if you are interested in more.
I don't know if there is any relations, but Coakley/Griffin jumped out at me when I saw your posting on Ancestry.com.
My info says Coakleys came from Ferron Thomas, County Cork, Ire.
