Born England 1829 Lived in Maitland working for his father until 1867 than moved to Muswellbrook where he worked for a Mr. Amos superintending the making of bricks. After two years he went to work near Burning Mountain (north of Scone)where he worked for a government contractor for a section of railway between Scone and Murrurundi. Here he superintended the making of two million bricks. In 1884 he opened a yard at Scone than later returned to Muswellbrook where he made the bricks for the local post and telegraph offices.He ran a business in Muswellbrook for many years where his bricks were used in all parts of the district.
