Edwin Smithers succeeded his father james Smithers as abrickmaker. His father lived in Devonshire street c1839-1849 and died that year. A Mrs Smithers was proprietor of some brick kilns in Maitland in 1852. Is the old shed in devonshire st by chance, if so where??
