I live in Lancashire, England and am trying to find any information about my surname SHERDLEY.

I am told that around the 1760s one HENRY SHERDLEY was appointed as Commisar for Goods & War Materials for His Majesty's Forces in NE Florida.I understand that Henry died in 1768, not long after he was appointed.

Does anybody know anything about this man?Or could anybody please point me in the right direction to find out more about him?
