My ancestor was John Smith who married Rebecca Chapman. They lived in Markham, York County. Their daughter, Hannah married Richard Montgomery in 1831 and they had 14 children. Trying to locate John Smith's parents and his military background in either New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania. He was a loyalist.
