The only thing that absoulutly links me to any Alexander Grant was the St Andrew's Church Records recording him and Sarah Claridge as the parents of my 2nd Great-Grandfater Richard. The will/newpaper article came later. So it could be that the prisoner was my Alex and the other (brother of John) was another.
