Upper Canada before 1831 when their daughter, Hannah Smith married Richard Montgomery, youngest son of
Alexander Montgomery, nephew of John Montgomery, the Rebel (1737). Rebecca Chapman was daghter of Nathan & Hannah (Tyler) Chapman.. Her father, Nathan was killed in N.Y. colony before the Revolution as a Looyalist. He may have been a Quaker. Hannah Chapman moved to Ontario along with some of her children. She married Asa Johnson and lived at the Edge of the Woods while Yonge Street was beng built. Twice Governor Simcoe and party stopped at her
cabin for food.
