Not sure if you'll get this - I was doing a google search as I research my grandmother's family and found your post looking for information about your uncle from 2006.

I think he and your mother are my first cousins twice removed! Their father James was the sister of my great grandmother Mary Kate Tansey. I have some more family information which I can share if you want to get in touch.
