I believe that she will be under Smith (maiden name) as it was not an amicable parting between she and her husband.

The death of David Tally was actually her husband, and Frank Tally is his brother. There was absolutely no contact made between Carol Jane Alice Smith and the rest of either her or his family after she left them in the early 1970's.
I am actually a local genealogist trying to assist a woman who is the daughter of Carol Jane Alice Smith, whom she has not seen or heard from since her mother left. She would desperately like to find her, even if it is just to tell her that she understands why her mother left herself and three siblings behind.
To date, I have not found any leads, not even a hint of her whereabouts.
