Hi William,

Sorry to disappoint, but in Burke's General Armory there are no entries in the name of RICHIE or RICHEY, but there are two entries in the spelling of RITCHIE.

The first (from England) is close to that which you describe and the second (from Craigtown, Scotland 1758) is as follows: Quarterly 1 & 4 Argent on a Chief Gules three Lion's Heads erased of the field - 2 & 3 Azure a Crescent Or between three cross crosslets Argent - Crest: a Unicorn's Head couped Ermine horned Or - Motto: Virtute acquiritur honos.

Unfortunately that graphic that you show looks suspiciously like a 'bucket-shop' production. The mantling has no colouring, there is no torse, there is too much tiger showing and there shouldn't be an edging (border) to the shield.

What gnealogical research have you done to date? The only way to link to an armigerous person is to trace backwards from yourself in the paternal line, ensuring that you also get the siblings for each generation. Eventually you may find some realtionship, but don't hold your breath whilst waiting to get some connection as the likelyhood is slim.

Good hunting.

Regards,
