A copy of Burke's General Armory can usually be found at any public library - if there isn't one there, the Librarian can usually get a copy transferred in for you to peruse.
Burke's General Armory is just that - a general armory which gives the blazon (heraldic description) of all arms that have been registered in England, Scotland Ireland and Wales up to approximately 1895. There are no accompanying illustrations.
You don't confirm the surname that you are researching - is it indeed RYDER? If so, you won't get very much in the way of genealogical information from Burke's GA as it is an Heraldic not Genealogical publication. It is not a volume of family history as it pertains to arms, not families. There are five RYDER entries in Burke's GA (see attached).
Your best bet is to get authentic documented genealogical research done first before looking for family links in Burke's GA. Without that proof, you cannot expect to be able to mate up any applicable arms recorded in that surname. Just consider yourself lucky that your surname isn't SMITH - there are over 350 of them in Burke's GA! Add to that number all the derivatives of Smith, like Schmidt, that are extant in continental European heraldic records and you can see what a daunting task it could be to research each single entry in that name.
