Jennifer,
I have to ask you first of all - is there an ORTIZ coat of Arms? Or is that what you are asking us?
Just because you have a certain surname it does not follow that you have any right to use the Arms registered to another person with the same surname as yourself.
If you are sure that there is an ORTIZ coat of arms, you would have to genealogically prove that you are a direct paternal ancestor. If you can't do this, you can always have your own Arms - see <<
http://freepages.work.rootsweb.com/~amateurheralds/homepage.... >> which is the Home Page of the Association of Amateur Heralds who can assist you, free of charge, in designing your own Arms - see <<
http://fs3.formsite.com/designrequests/requestform/index.htm... >>. If you wish to do so, when requesting assistance just mention that you were directed to the AAH website my myself.
Good Luck.
Regards,
