We boys had to cut our own fishing pole, when we arrived at the creek or river.
Other times, we used the pole with a dynamite cap, attached to two wires,
and touched to the poles of a battery, to shortcut our fishing time, when we
were hungry. Being 80+, some of these details may be a little fuzzy.
