The Jennie Cox Smith and Clarence Smith that you speak of in this story were my grandparents! I too remember this story. Everyone called my granny Aunt Jennie even if they were not related. She was very respected, and there was never any doubt that whatever she spoke was truth. She would tell this story to teach us that "you should never let the sun set on your anger." Adding to the recollection I would add that she told me as the apparition form it started from the feet going upwards. That it seemed to be in a wedding dress, but they didn't look long as they were scared to death, and pulled the blankets up over their head, to scared to even breath. All of the doors and windows were already locked. She heard each step it took up the stairway, but was to scared to explore until morning.
I remember your g-grandmother Aunt Katie. I visited her while she was living at Cadiz Ky. and her daughter Louella was there. I would love for you to contact me. Many stories of the family we could recall. I have done a geneaology of the family, and perhaps you could fill in some of the blanks. Was pleased to find this posting, and I called my mother to let her know, she is 79 years old. We all miss our dear sweet granny.
