I have heard of "catching babies", but not of the knife cutting pain. My folks were from Knox Co. Kentucky. Do you know where that is? My grandmother was a midwife, she delivered triplets once and they all lived. I have been told that she had a big black book that held all her receipes for medicine. She used plants and herbs. I would love to learn more about midwives in the hills of Kentucky. thank you for your reply.
