Here is one from my Bridgeman/Webb family line that strangely is apparently true (for our family anyways):
My Grandmother Onah Bridgeman Webb always said that "When a male child is born into the family, A man in the family will die" and "When a Female child enters the family a Female in the family will die" Sounds far fetched I know, but, in researching my family I've found this to be true. Also, I guess you could say that I am living proof of it's validity. Here is the story: I am adopted. Just before my adoption was finalized my grandmother told my mom that when the adoption was final that she would die. My mother exclaimed "Oh Mom, don't talk like that! that's crazy!" My grandmother very calmly replied " When a male child enters this family a man dies in the family and when a girl child enters this family, a woman dies. When you adopt this baby girl I will die." Well, my adoption was finalized about a month later and within a week of that my grandmother (Who was only in her 50's) died of a massive heart attack. While she was in the hospital my parents came and stayed at her house to be close to the hospital. They incidentally chose to sleep in her room with me (an Infant) sleeping in a small basket placed on the floor beside my mother's side of the bed. Now, you should understand that my grandmother had a very loud distinctive sounding snore. Anyways, in the middle of the night my mother was awakened by the sound of my grandmother snoring, knowing that her mother was in the hospital, my mother sat up in the bed and looked around and followed the sound of the snore down to the small basket lying on the floor beside the bed, and there lying in the basket sound asleep was me, her infant, snoring her mother's snore! My mother needless to say was quite frightened and began begging "Mama! Please don't take my baby girl! Please Mama!! Please!" I didn't wake up, but the snoring stopped.........The hospital called about ten minutes later to say that my grandmother had died about ten minutes before, at the same time my mother heard her snore!!! You can believe this story or not, but my mother swears that it is true, and has always as I've grown said that I have my grandmother in me-Well, maybe not her, but alot of her traits.
