Its funny how we can sometimes feel as though we've been somewhere before ~perhaps~ in a past life?, but I get that feeling about people.
I love old movies and for years some of my favorite actresses have been Bette Davis and Katherine Hepburn.
When I was young I learned that Bette Davis had a summer home in Maine. Very near where much of my family (both parents) were from.
My Nana used to tell me stories of her family when she was young and growing up in Maine etc. which started my love for genealogy at a very early age (around 13 actually).
Not too long ago I was watching a show on Bette Davis and decided to do some research on her family.
Ironically, she and I have a distant family link, since she too is from New England.
I may have one to Katherine Hepburn as well since her family is Scottish as is mine.
I have read that our brains pick up on things we see in others that we connect to. Its very hard to explain and I don't know all the technical details of it to give a good explanation, but there is something to Why we are drawn to certain people.

My husband for instance was being born on an Air Force Base at the Very Same time my Maternal Grandparents lived there...the Same Base...how ironic is that? My husbands family after he was born ended up in CA and my grandparents went back to Maine, so the odds of those types of ironies, I think are somehow Divine.
I'll never forget that conversation between my grandfather and my husband when they discovered they had Both been on that same AFB at the same time. You could feel the hairs standing on end in the entire room !!

A few summers back when I was in Maine, we went to a town I had never been to before, but as we drove into the quaint small town I got the eeeriest feeling I had been there before or that I knew this place. We passed by several cemeteries and I searched through them for relatives, I didn't see any, but when I got home, I searched the records via another source and lo and behold my 2nd and 3rd grt. grandparents and families had lived there for years and were buried there, more ironically, they were a branch of my family that I had not yet completed researching, but the Cemetery records gave me all the info I needed. That was another one of those hair raising moments and I wished I had been able to find the Cemetery they were buried in while I had been right there.

I believe that our ancestors speak to us in ways we may not even know about. I believe we have intuitive senses about such things when we are near them. I honestly believe there IS a psychic or some type of link, even between the ages...perhaps it really is in our blood!!
